3.1. Online/Internet Drafting
Question:
Not everyone is able to make the draft, can we run FanDraft over the internet?
Answer:
FanDraft does not presently offer with internet capabilities, however this functionality may arrive in future versions.
Most leagues currently tend to use free Instant Messaging (IM) programs (i.e. AOL IM,MSN IM, or Google Talk) to run conversations in the background while the draft is occurring, for those who aren't in attendance.
In the last year a wide variety of VPN (Virtual Private Network) and VNC(Virtual Network Computer)
software has become available, which allows others to login to your PC, and view your screen live. Such software would make it possible for those not in attendance to see the FanDraft screen just like everyone else.A few samples of this software include:
Note: The above are all 3rd party products. We do not support this software, and you should contact the vendor directly with any questions before purchase. The list is also not endorsed by FanDraft, but rather a random sampling of some of the many products available.

4.1. Serpentine / Custom draft orders
Question:
Can I conduct a serpentine draft, or trade draft picks?
Answer:
In the Setup>Draft Order area you can set each individual pick.
To copy to the following rounds just select "Copy to Next Round" or "Reverse to next Round". In the case of a serpentine draft you would want to do a "Reverse to next Round" till all of your rounds are set. The registered version allows for up to 50 rounds of draft.
Every individual pick can be set to your exact customization.
5.1. Draft Board Stream vs Draft Summary
Question:
Which should I use during the draft "Draft Board Stream" or "Draft Summary"
Answer:
This is all personal preference, but we suggest having the Draft Board stream. The DBS scrolls automatically through all available players in the draft. It is a lot more useful to owners to know what players are available, then a summary of rosters.
At the end of each round a "Round Summary" is displayed, so users can see whose all been taken.
5.2. "Alert" message prior to starting a draft
Question:
I'm getting an "Alert" message before starting a draft, what is this?
Answer:
If all of your teams are not setup, or the draft order hasn't been completed, then an alert will notify you of this.
You should setup all of your league, team, and draft order information before starting the draft.
5.3. I started a draft accidentally!
Question:
I started a draft accidentally, WHAT SHOULD I DO??!
Answer:
Feel free to get familiar with the draft portion of the program. Test and get use to the live draft as much as you need.
Whenever you go to Draft-> Start Draft and hit the "START DRAFT" button, it will clear all prior picks and draft data. This means you can as many Mock Drafts as you want prior to the actual draft.
5.4. Exited program in middle of draft
Question:
I accidentally exited the program in the middle of the draft, what should I do?
Answer:
To continue from where you left off, simply go to Draft->Continue Draft.
All information is automatically saved and stored during the draft, so doing should bring you right back to where you left off.
Make sure to select "Continue" draft though, and not "Start New Draft". Starting a New Draft does exactly that, erases all prior information and starts a new draft.
5.5. Draft Clock (seconds)
Question:
I need a few extra seconds on the draft clock to get adjusted between each pick, what should I do?
Answer:
First note that when the draft clock hits zero, it doesn't automatically skip to the next pick.
If you would like to reset the timer at any time, click the "Reset" button located directly to the right of the timer.
There is also a pause button on the Draft Clock controls, which will pause at any time. Re-clicking the pause button will cause the clock to resume. Clicking the "Timer" icon lets you reset the timer for the remainder of the draft.
5.6. Draft Clock (Edit Time)
Question:
Our draft has different time allowed per pick for every round.
Answer:
On the draft clock control panel, click on the "Timer" icon. This will allow you to change the draft timer at any moment.

5.7. Edit Selections / Undo Pick
Question:
I accidentally selected a player during the draft, how do I undo this?
Answer:
At any time during the draft you can hit the back button and reselect the prior pick.
If you go back several picks, you can use the "forward" arrow to get back to your right place in the draft.
Another great way to edit picks is to use the "Edit Selections". This will allow you to jump to any pick in the draft and change what team and/or player needs to be corrected.
5.8. Forward, Back, Skip
Question:
What are the navigational (back, forward, skip) arrows in the draft area for?
Answer:
SKIP
: Allows you to actually SKIP a selection without taking a player. This is useful at the end of the draft if different teams have a different amount of selections.
BACK arrow
: Allows you to move back selections in the draft. Useful for making quick edits. If you are very far into the draft, you are better of using the "Edit Selections"
FORWARD arrow
: For use if you use the back arrow multiple times, and need to return to the current pick.
5.9. Editing selections at the end or late in the draft
Question:
There was a mistake made in the early rounds of the draft, how do we fix this?
Answer:
Go to Draft >Edit Selections.
5.10. Position Breakdown Display
Question:
What is the Position Breakdown Display?
Answer:
This display shows how many players at each position have been selected, as well as how many slots each team is allowed left at each.
5.11. Can't see the ticker

The draft ticker works like a standard "news ticker", streaming the latest information from the draft along the bottom of the screen.
The ticker starts up once the first couple of picks are selected, then continues to stream throughout the draft. If you would like to speed up the ticker, there is a speed control on the left hand side of the ticker.
